Many years ago I was badly injured in a random street attack by two thugs. To deal with the aftershock, I went looking for self defence clubs, but only found martial arts clubs. So I trained for several years in four various systems. However, none of these ticked the right boxes for me, they didn't seem to deal with self defence in the real world.

Then I saw a flyer for Krav Maga and went along to watch a class. It ticked all the boxes, and so for 15 years I have trained in Krav Maga.

Several years ago, I realised I wanted to do something to help other people, in the way that Krav Maga had helped me deal with the unpredictability of violence. I took the KMG General Instructor Course. and I qualified as a professional Krav Maga Global Instructor for civilian adults In 2014. 

In 2015 I gained further qualifications as a KMG Instructor for Women, and in 2017 I also qualified as a KMG Kids Instructor.

I train regularly in Israel under KMG Chief Instructor Eyal Yanilov, the successor to the founder Imi Lichtenfeld.  

​

I teach a variety of people, from police officers to a scientist. Everyone is different but we all share a desire to protect ourselves and our family from violence. 
.

My approach to teaching self defence is not the old fashioned shouting and raving approach. I like classes to have an approachable, fun atmosphere. Although the drills are often intense, everyone who comes  to train is encouraged to have a generous attitude of helping to improve each another, in a safe and friendly environment.

We play many games, as the best way to learn is through play. I work with the specific needs of each individual and devise drills that enable effective results.

 

All my classes are safe, instructive, friendly and exciting.
